Yes. You can provide the Extract process with an existing codeframe for it to code against. The codeframe can remain fixed, or you can ask the AI to suggest additional codes that are missing. You can also import existing coded data for the codeit AI to learn from using codeit’s unique Machine Learning.

Yes. At the click of a button, the Extract process will automatically analyze your verbatims, build a suggested codeframe and autocode your data against that codeframe. You can use the AI output as-is or use our unique Refine interface to finesse the data in any way you need to.

No. The Extract feature is a huge timesaver, but it’s not compulsory. You’re still free to code manually in the traditional way if you prefer. For ongoing surveys, like tracking studies, it’s better to skip the Extract step and leverage your historical data using the Apply feature instead.

Yes. The Extract process also assigns a 5 point sentiment score to any codes it applies based on the verbatim content. A sentiment breakdown can be analyzed using our Visualize page and raw sentiment data can be exported for analysis in other tools.
